As the Jackets round the corner into the final 11 games, something is building.

Like the relentless TRAMP-TRAMP-TRAMP of a marching column of Union Soldiers, the playoff race comes ever closer. The tension and the excitement seems to grow stronger each time you check the paper.
 
Maybe you've been hitting Puck-Rakers every time you don't think your boss is watching. (And then she asks you what you thought of last night's game!)
 
Maybe you're hitting your twitter on the sly, hoping to get a little tidbit about what's going on around the league.
 
Maybe you've been hitting Sports Club Stats every day with your morning coffee, hoping to see how each of the key games affected the Jackets' chances, and maybe you needed a little extra sugar in your coffee because you stayed up to watch that 10:30 game out in Vancouver?
 
Maybe you're seeing more people with CBJ bumper stickers, wearing jerseys on game day around the office, or putting a flag up on the porch?
 
Maybe you give a little smile and nod when you see someone wearing a new Vermette t-shirt.
 
The excitement is building. The buzz is spreading. It's on the radio, the TV, the internet.
 
The crowds are getting bigger at Nationwide. The chants are getting louder.
 
The Army of the Ohio is on the March. The playoffs are straight ahead.

32nd Annual OHSAA Hockey High School Final Four - Free Tickets

This weekend the Columbus Blue Jackets and Nationwide Arena will the hosting the 32nd Annual OHSAA Hockey High School Final Four.  Semi-Final games are on Saturday at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, with the Championship Game being Sunday at 11:00 AM.

 

The Columbus Blue Jackets have offered free tickets to all three games for Jacket Backer Members.  We need to have a final count to them by Thursday at noon.  We will need to know how many adult and children's tickets you want as well as what games you would like.  If interested please reply to activities@jacketbackers.org.  The tickets will be available at Thursday Night's game vs. the Pttsburgh Penguins.  If you are not attending Thursday we will try to make arrangements to get you the tickets.

The Jacket Backers have reserved a block of 30 tickets for this game in Nashville.  We have to act quickly to guarantee these tickets.  The tickets will be in Club Section 223 in the Blue Jackets attack twice zone.  This is a ticket only event and the tickets are $55 for members or $75 for non-members.  We need at least 15 people to guarantee these prices.  So sign up now by contacting travel@jacketbackers.com or treasurer@jacketbackers.com.

The RBar along with the Columbus Blue Jackets are hosting "The Official Columbus Blue Jackets Viewing Party"!  There will be a chance to win a team signed stick or 2 lower bowl tickets to the March 10th Boston game.
 
While this is not a Jacket Backers event, why not come to the RBar to cheer on your Columbus Blue Jackets as they battle those hated Nashville Predators.  It should be a great game with playoff implications.  You are guaranteed to be surrounded by great fans, great prizes and great drink specials.

To our surprise, 10TV WBNS stopped by the RBar Thursday night during the game watching party.  They filmed some crowd shots and spoke briefly with club President, Julie Maurer and one of our newest members,  Matt Garrett.  The segment is to air Saturday night at 11:35 on Wall to Wall Sports.
